Technology Development Team Lead / CTO (potential)

Our AI-powered assistant delivers voice-first, text-based, and multimodal experiences, transforming how businesses interact with customers at scale.

We are looking for a Technology Development Team Lead who will drive our technical vision, build a high-performing AI-first development team, and help shape the future of AI-powered automation. This role has the potential to grow into a CTO position —or, for highly experienced candidates, begin as CTO from day one.

Role Overview

As the Technology Development Team Lead, you will be at the forefront of AI-driven technology development, leading the architecture, execution, and optimization of our AI-powered assistant and self-serve platform. You will be both a technical strategist and a hands-on problem solver, ensuring that we are building scalable, cutting-edge AI solutions that redefine customer engagement.

Key Responsibilities

Technology Leadership & Vision

• Define and execute the technical vision and AI-first development strategy.
• Lead the development of scalable, multi-industry AI-driven platforms with an emphasis on voice-first, self-serve, and multimodal engagement.
• Ensure best practices in AI model integration, data pipelines, infrastructure, and security.
• Architect and optimize real-time AI-driven conversational systems with LLMs, vector databases, and AI-powered knowledge retrieval.
• Build self-serve customer & reseller portals to enable businesses to deploy and customize their AI assistants without engineering dependencies.
• Utilize AI-powered development tools (Copilot, AI-assisted DevOps, AI-driven test automation) to enhance engineering efficiency.

AI Service Delivery & Scalability

• Oversee AI deployment, integrations, and optimization across different verticals (retail, education, customer support, etc.).
• Build low-friction onboarding flows, ensuring seamless AI activation for businesses.
• Implement AI monitoring and observability tools to track engagement effectiveness.
• Recruit, mentor, and lead a high-performance AI-first engineering team.
• Foster a culture of AI-driven development, continuous learning, and rapid iteration.
• Balance strategic planning with tactical execution, ensuring fast delivery cycles.

Required Qualifications

• Deep expertise in AI/ML development, including LLMs, NLP, agent-based systems, and conversational AI.
• 10+ years of software development experience, with a track record of building scalable AI-first platforms.
• Strong background in cloud-native architectures (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and DevOps automation.
• Expertise in modern programming languages (Python, TypeScript, Go, or similar).
• Experience building self-serve SaaS platforms with AI-powered automation and dynamic configuration capabilities.
• Startup mindset—comfortable with both strategy and hands-on coding.
• Fluent in English with strong communication skills for US-based team and customer interactions.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous CTO, VP Engineering, or Senior AI Leadership experience in a high-growth startup.
• Strong grasp of AI-first software development, self-serve SaaS models, and data-driven automation.
• Experience in voice-first AI, customer engagement automation, and multimodal AI interactions.
• Knowledge of security, compliance, and AI ethics in enterprise applications.
