Joliet Public Schools District 86 seeks a forward-thinking Chief Officer for Technology and Innovation to define and deliver IT strategy across the District; leading instructional, operations, data, print, and cyber security efforts under delegated authority from the Superintendent.

This role emphasizes equitable access to technology, budget management, vendor partnerships, and a culture of data-driven decision making to support learning and administrative excellence.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s in Education, Computer Science, or a Technology-related field preferred.
• Master’s Degree in Education Administration or Computer Science Equivalent preferred.
• Minimum of 7 years’ successful experience with technology programming, management, and leadership in an educational environment.
• Valid Illinois Professional Educator License with supervisory endorsement preferred; approval to evaluate licensed staff preferred.
• CETL Certification preferred at hire; PM certs and administrative experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate district-wide IT strategy and operations.
• Develop data privacy guidelines and compliance measures.
• Manage data systems for reporting and decision making.
• Oversee technology budget, procurement, and vendor relations.
• Promote equitable access to technology for students and staff.
