Job description

Chief Technician – Production Technician Shift

Location: Moses Lake, WA – Full‑time, permanent, on‑site, rotating shift. Reporting to the Site Plant Manager.

Responsibilities
  • Work with the Chief Technician on shift to form a team capable of maintaining normal plant operations and prepared to take appropriate action during abnormal operations or emergencies.
  • Participate in or execute activities related to production and loading areas as necessary to meet overall production department objectives.
  • Assist in documenting and communicating critical information, including logbook entries, operating log sheets, informative shift changes, and applicable reports.
  • Assist in monitoring and controlling the process via the Bailey DCS and other in‑plant controls.
  • Evaluate analytical and process data, taking preventative or corrective action as needed.
  • Conduct periodic field checks to ensure proper operations and prevent equipment damage or unsafe conditions.
  • Perform equipment care and condition monitoring, with a goal of preventing failures.
  • Conduct sampling and laboratory analyses as required.
  • Support maintenance and production activities, including preparing equipment for maintenance, writing work orders, documenting activities and events, performing inspections, and other related tasks.
  • Develop reports, collect data, and evaluate key plant operating parameters. Create trends and graphs, route air‑flow measurements, and participate in establishing preventive maintenance frequencies.
  • Assist in evaluating and testing new projects and experiments.
  • Prepare PCRs as required.
  • Handle hazardous materials safely and maintain necessary certifications.
  • Be willing to work overtime when necessary to meet production needs.
  • Attend meetings and training sessions as required; some may occur outside normal shift hours.
  • Maintain a positive and professional work environment, fostering good personnel relations, discouraging harassment, and supporting management objectives.
  • Perform various tasks related to plant utility systems as directed by supervision.

  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to perform field checks and analyze data to protect plant operations.

Advancement to Chief Technician

Qualified Production Technicians may be temporarily promoted to Chief Technician to fill shift needs. Specific qualification requirements are at the discretion of the Operations Manager.

Compensation and Benefits
  • Salary Range: $42.08/hr – $48.82/hr, depending on qualifications and experience.
