Job summary

Dashiell Corporation, an operating unit of Quanta Services, seeks a Director of Engineering to lead the electrical substation engineering function from its Raleigh, NC office. This role owns strategy, quality, talent, and the financial performance of the engineering group, reporting to the VP of Engineering.

You will drive cross-functional collaboration with construction, testing, PM, and BD teams, manage client relations, and guide growth in utility, industrial, and renewable sectors.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering with power systems focus preferred; Master's degree preferred.
• 16+ years of electrical substation engineering experience with 7+ years in senior leadership.
• Active Professional Engineer (PE) license; ability to obtain licensure in multiple states.
• Extensive HV substation design knowledge (138kV+), including protection/controls and HV EPC.

Responsibilities

• Provide executive-level leadership for the Electrical/Substation engineering discipline.
• Ensure accountability for all substation engineering deliverables, quality, and client satisfaction.
• Lead standards, methodologies, QA/QC, and roadmaps for the Raleigh office.
• Build and manage a high-performing substation engineering organization.
• Serve as senior client executive for major accounts and lead engineering pursuits.
• Oversee full engineering P&L, budgeting, and project profitability.
• Coordinate with construction, testing, PM, and BD teams for delivery.
• Oversee proposals, scope, and contract negotiations to support BD.
