Job description

the client is seeking an accomplished, strategic and highly collaborative Chief Strategy Officer to serve as a key member of the senior leadership team and a trusted partner to the Chief Executive Officer. Based in Kansas City, Missouri, the CSO will support enterprise-wide leadership by translating organizational strategy into clear priorities, disciplined execution, and measurable results. This senior role is responsible for day-to-day operational performance and internal efficiency across the organization.

The CSO will provide executive leadership over finance, venue and event operations, sporting properties, and technology, ensuring operational integration and consistent performance across departments. In partnership with the CEO and senior leadership team, the CSO will guide the strategic planning process and help translate the organization’s strategic vision into operational reality through scalable processes. The role is also expected to strengthen cross-functional alignment and enhance transparent performance tracking and accountability while supporting major strategic goals and initiatives across functions related to the first team, the development pathway, facilities, and the broader fan and stakeholder experience.

The successful candidate will be a visible, hands-on, and values-driven leader who combines strategic perspective with operational rigor. The CSO will build strong relationships with ownership and senior colleagues, identify opportunities to improve performance and service, and help position the client for sustainable long-term growth while preserving the organization’s distinctive culture and commitment to its community.
