Job summary

The Vice President will serve as the senior advisor to the CEO and senior leaders on state regulatory risks and opportunities, shaping enterprise policy and advocacy.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years in regulatory affairs, government relations, public policy, or similar leadership role within insurance/financial services.
  • Deep expertise in state insurance regulatory frameworks, state legislative processes, regulator engagement, NAIC processes, multi-state regulatory initiatives.
  • Proven track record of influencing policy at state and national levels.
  • Ability to operate at enterprise leadership level and advise senior executives.

Responsibilities

  • Prioritize issues and develop and implement lobbying, regulatory, and advocacy strategies.
  • Advise CEO and senior leaders on priority state regulatory matters and emerging risks.
  • Establish and lead the enterprise's state regulatory strategy and respond to regulatory change.
  • Oversee state legislative strategy and staff to achieve company objectives.
  • Identify, analyze, and prioritize state regulatory issues with cross-functional collaboration.
  • Represent the company at NAIC and industry meetings and foster key relationships.
  • Communicate updates on legislative developments and recommended actions to stakeholders.
  • Ensure alignment of state regulatory positions with federal policy stances and enterprise processes.
  • Travel frequently to state capitals, DC, regulator meetings, and industry events to build relationships.
