Job summary

Northrop Grumman seeks a highly experienced Electrical Engineer to lead the architecture, design, and implementation of Command & Data Handling systems for advanced spacecraft platforms. You will drive electrical system design and avionics control of spacecraft functions, data flows, and ground/space communication.

This staff-level role interfaces with avionics, software, GNC, and mission operations, guiding cross-disciplinary teams and leading design reviews across programs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field and 12+ years of related experience; 10+ with Masters; 8+ with PhD.
• Experience in Electrical Systems or C&DH subsystem engineering.
• Ability to obtain TS clearance with SCI eligibility.
• Hands-on mindset and capability to work in fast-paced environments.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end architecture of spacecraft C&DH systems and data buses.
• Define and own electrical system architecture across subsystems.
• Drive design of flight computers, data buses, telemetry, and fault management.
• Establish requirements, interface control documents (ICDs), and verification strategies.
• Mentor engineers and lead design reviews; oversee hardware/software integration.
