Qualifications

• Experience designing, developing, and deploying scalable and secure distributed applications.
• Software engineering in both on-premises and cloud environments.
• Proficiency in Java and Python.
• Hands-on with Tomcat, Spring, GIT/Stash or Sonar.
• Experience with Kafka and MQ for event-driven apps.
• Proficient in SQL and relational databases.
• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes for containerized deployments.
• Familiar with Hazelcast/Redis distributed caching.
• CI/CD with Jenkins and Maven; DevOps mindset and automation.
• API development using SOAP/REST, JSON, XML.

Responsibilities

• Architect, design, and code highly scalable and reliable transaction processing systems.
• Develop key modules, core frameworks and automation tools.
• Establish engineering best practices for development, testing, deployment and monitoring.
• Define technical strategy for the payment platform aligned with product vision.
• Collaborate with partners to translate requirements into compliant solutions.
• Provide technology leadership and motivate senior engineers to meet goals and KPIs.
• Collaborate with security, privacy, and governance teams to ensure policy compliance.
• Position reports to the Foster City, California office and may allow for partial telecommuting.
