Job summary

Code Metal is seeking a Head of Security to lead, mature, and scale our security program. You will own strategy and technical direction across products, infrastructure, and corporate systems, partnering with engineering, IT, legal, compliance, and leadership to meet defense, government, and enterprise requirements.

This senior role requires strong technical capability, risk-based decision making, and the ability to influence engineers, executives, customers, and government partners.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of cybersecurity and compliance leadership experience.
• Broad technical depth across product, cloud, infrastructure and enterprise security.
• Experience owning or maturing security programs in technical organizations.
• Strong understanding of security architecture, risk management, security operations, privacy and incident response.
• Experience collaborating with engineering and influencing technical decisions.
• Ability to communicate security risks to technical and non-technical audiences.
• U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain/maintain a U.S. government security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Own and evolve Code Metal's cybersecurity strategy, priorities, and roadmap.
• Lead security across products, infrastructure, and development environments.
• Partner with engineering to establish security architecture, standards, and controls.
• Oversee security operations including IAM, vulnerability management, monitoring, and incident response.
• Lead product security and integrate security into the SDLC.
• Own regulatory, compliance, and customer security requirements.
• Collaborate with Legal, FSO, and Ops on security requirements for CUI/classified environments.
• Represent security posture with leadership, customers, government partners, auditors, and external stakeholders.
• Build and grow the security organization as Code Metal expands.
