Job summary

RAND Corporation seeks an Executive Director and Chief Security Officer to lead the S&CO organization, overseeing all classified capabilities, security programs, and IT staff across RAND’s U.S. offices. You will drive capabilities to meet evolving needs, including AI-enabled research, while maintaining highest security standards.

The role reports to the SVP, CFO, and involves managing insider threat, incident response, and compliance with NISP and related directives. Travel within the U.S.

Qualifications

• Senior leadership experience in security and IT for classified or sensitive environments.
• Proven ability to align security programs with research and mission needs.
• Experience managing insider threat, counterintelligence, and incident response.

Responsibilities

• Set vision and strategy for the security and IT org to support RAND's mission.
• Oversee classified computing, facilities, and risk management programs globally.
• Direct insider threat program, incident response, and regulatory compliance.
• Engage with government sponsors and security partners at executive level.
