RAND is seeking an Executive Director to lead the 55-person S&CO organization and serve as the Chief Security Officer. This role drives classified research capabilities across RAND and its sponsors, leveraging AI, high-performance computing, and secure AI-enabled research tools to advance U.S.

national security objectives. The position reports to the SVP, CFO/COO and requires building a high-performing, service-oriented security team across RAND offices, while upholding the highest security

Qualificações

• 10+ years of security, classified support, and/or IT experience with at least 5 years in management.
• Active, transferable Top Secret clearance with SCI access and SAP eligibility.
• Experience managing budgets, staffing, and organizational strategy in a research/security environment.

Responsabilidades

• Define department vision, strategy, goals, and priorities; communicate and execute them with measurable progress.
• Ensure robust policies and processes for classified operations and compute delivery to researchers worldwide.
• Direct insider threat, risk mitigation, incident response, and security investigations; maintain compliance with NISPOM and related directives.
• Lead liaison activities with government sponsors and security organizations to facilitate mission-aligned security support.
• Oversee staffing, development, succession planning, and performance management within the department.
• Manage facility accreditations, system authorizations, and secure communications; coordinate with DCSA and other agencies.
