Job summary

F2 in San Francisco is hiring its first security engineer to own security end-to-end across the multi-tenant AI platform and cloud infrastructure. You will drive threat modeling, access controls, incident response, and compliance integration with enterprise customers and auditors.

The role is engineer-first and independent, reporting to the co-founder/CEO, with equity and a fast-moving, high-velocity team culture. Location is hybrid in San Francisco.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in security with a strong software engineering background.
• Proficient in Python and TypeScript.
• Experience securing AWS-hosted services and modern web applications.
• Knowledge of SOC 2 Type II or ISO 27001 from the engineering side.
• Experience handling enterprise security questionnaires and pen tests.
• Ability to work independently in a small, high-velocity team.

Responsibilities

• Own security of the multi-tenant AI platform and cloud infrastructure.
• Threat-model LLM-driven workflows and design controls for agent-based requests.
• Run IAM, network boundaries, secrets management, and logging/detection.
• Lead the SOC 2 program’s technical controls and embed them into pipelines.
• Build detection and incident response, including customer communication and postmortems.
• Co-own customer questionnaires, pen test coordination, and security addenda.
• Mentor engineers on secure-by-default patterns and review practices.
