Job summary

Tallgrass is seeking a Vice President of Safety to lead strategy, execution and continuous improvement of safety and workforce development across midstream pipeline and power generation operations. This executive role reports to the COO, requires significant field travel, and drives a culture of accountability and learning across multiple sites.

The ideal candidate has extensive field experience in high-hazard energy operations, a proven track record implementing scalable safety management

Qualifications

• 15+ years of progressive safety leadership experience in energy infrastructure.
• Experience managing safety and training programs across large, geographically dispersed organizations.
• Strong working knowledge of OSHA, DOT/PHMSA, API/ASME, NFPA/NEC standards.
• Willingness to travel 50–80% to support field operations and training.
• Executive-level leadership, communication, and relationship-building skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership for safety and training initiatives across midstream pipeline and power generation operations.
• Refine and execute the Safety Management System aligned with goals, regulatory requirements, and customer expectations.
• Lead and develop a multi-site team of safety professionals with metrics and coaching.
• Identify risk with operations leadership and strengthen site safety through practical controls.
