Job summary

Evergreen Roadworks is seeking a Safety Director to plan and implement the safety program across Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, and other states. You will lead a team of safety professionals and partner with executives to drive a culture of safety-first Behaviors.

The role emphasizes regulatory compliance with OSHA, DOT, EPA, and other agencies; development of safety policies, audits, and training; and collaboration with related companies on safety initiatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Safety Management, Construction Management or related discipline, or equivalent work experience (required).
• 5+ years of experience in corporate safety department/safety management (required).
• Experience in development of safety processes and training of individuals on process (required).

Responsibilities

• Drives workplace safety and leads the safety department.
• Collaborates with leaders to develop safety solutions and programs.
• Develops policies, programs, and training to instill a safe culture.
• Ensures compliance with OSHA, DOT, EPA, and other regulatory agencies.
• Coordinates safety initiatives across multiple locations (IL/IN/MI).
• Conducts audits and incident investigations; identifies root causes and corrective actions.
