Job summary

Credit Union 1, Inc. is seeking a Chief Risk Officer to lead enterprise risk management and set the risk agenda for the entire organization based in Anchorage, Alaska.

You will drive risk-informed strategy, budgets, and product decisions while guiding the C-suite and Board on risk posture. You will own compliance and BSA/AML programs, oversee credit and operational risk, fraud prevention, vendor risk, and information security governance, with regular board briefings and regulatory liaison

Qualifications

• 10+ years in risk, compliance, credit, audit, or regulatory roles in financial services.
• At least 5 years leading teams.
• Direct experience with NCUA or comparable regulator.
• Ownership of two areas: ERM, credit risk, BSA/AML, or compliance.
• Experience presenting to a board or risk/audit committee.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and run the ERM program including risk taxonomy, appetite, KRIs, and reporting.
• Partner on portfolio quality, concentration limits, stress testing, and policy.
• Own the compliance and BSA/AML/OFAC program.
• Oversee fraud prevention, detection, and loss mitigation.
• Manage third-party and vendor risk framework.
• Lead operational resilience, continuity, DR, and incident response.
• Govern information security with the CIO and provide independent oversight.
• Manage regulatory relations with NCUA and Alaska Division, exam prep and remediation.
