Qualifications

• 15+ years of relevant experience in compliance, risk, legal or regulatory functions.
• Significant experience within the insurance industry.
• 5+ years of leadership experience.
• Demonstrated experience leading leaders and developing high-performing teams.
• Experience influencing senior leaders and partnering across multiple business areas.
• Experience navigating complex regulatory requirements and providing practical, business-oriented guidance.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead Securian's enterprise regulatory compliance program and a team of approximately 20 associates, including leaders responsible for sub-teams.
• Provide oversight across life insurance/annuity product administration, securities-related activities, complaint handling and tracking, suitability and replacements, unclaimed property, and related monitoring.
• Partner across business lines to understand priorities, identify regulatory risks and develop practical approaches to managing those risks.
• Evolve the Regulatory Compliance operating model with clarified responsibilities and ways of working.
• Enhance proactive risk identification, assessment, monitoring, quantification, reporting and escalation.
• Develop and enhance policies, training, tools and monitoring practices for regulatory compliance.
• Translate regulatory requirements into practical business guidance for informed decisions.
• Anticipate regulatory developments and emerging risks to respond proactively.
• Develop future compliance leaders and build organizational capabilities for long-term success.
