Job summary

Confidential Careers seeks a Chief Legal Officer to build and lead its legal function for a growing real estate and capital platform. The role is ground-floor, reporting to executive leadership, with exposure to development, financing, and corporate operations.

You will be the principal legal advisor across the enterprise, manage outside counsel, structure transactions and establish governance as the business scales.

Qualifications

• J.D. with active bar admission; California bar preferred.
• 12+ years of legal experience with emphasis on commercial real estate.
• In-house counsel experience at a real estate development, investment or operating platform.

Responsibilities

• Serve as principal legal advisor to CEO and executive team across entities.
• Lead legal strategy for acquisitions, development, financing, and JVs.
• Structure and negotiate financings across the capital stack.
• Oversee regulatory compliance and investor documentation for specialty capital programs.
• Manage outside counsel and governance across holding company and subsidiaries.
• Develop internal legal infrastructure and scalable processes.
