Froedtert ThedaCare seeks an accomplished executive to serve as Senior Vice President and Chief Quality Officer (CQO). Reporting to the Chief Clinical Officer, the CQO will provide strategic leadership for quality, safety, patient experience, and clinical performance across one of the nation's largest integrated academic health systems.

The CQO will drive a unified quality strategy and elevate overall excellence in patient care within Wisconsin's Froedtert ThedaCare network.

Job description

Froedtert ThedaCare seeks an accomplished and forward-thinking executive to serve as its next Senior Vice President and Chief Quality Officer (CQO). Reporting to the Chief Clinical Officer, the CQO will provide strategic leadership for quality, safety, patient experience, and clinical performance across one of the nation's largest integrated academic health systems. Joining the organization during a period of significant evolution and integration, this leader will help advance a unified vision for excellence while strengthening the systems, capabilities, and culture necessary to achieve exceptional outcomes. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to drive meaningful impact across the enterprise and further elevate Froedtert ThedaCare's reputation for clinical excellence, quality, and patient-centered care.

Formed through the combination of Froedtert Health and ThedaCare, Froedtert ThedaCare is a high-performing health system serving communities across Wisconsin through 18 hospitals, more than 360 outpatient locations, and a growing health plan. In partnership with the Medical College of Wisconsin, the organization combines exceptional clinical care, innovation, research, and education in support of its mission to improve the health of the communities it serves. The next CQO will be charged with building upon this strong foundation by creating a more unified and integrated approach to quality across the enterprise. Working across historically distinct regions, leaders, and care environments, this executive will advance a shared quality strategy, strengthen governance structures, and help establish a common framework for performance improvement. The CQO will play a critical role in accelerating Froedtert ThedaCare's high reliability journey, reducing variation in care delivery, deepening physician and clinical engagement, and fostering the cultural and behavioral changes required to achieve sustained excellence.

Beyond operational excellence, this leader will have the opportunity to help define the future of quality within an academic health system. Froedtert ThedaCare seeks an executive who can leverage advanced analytics, emerging technologies, and artificial intelligence to enhance measurement, transparency, and performance improvement efforts. In collaboration with the Medical College of Wisconsin, the CQO will also help elevate the organization's academic contributions to quality and patient safety, fostering scholarship, innovation, and thought leadership that extends beyond the health system and contributes to the national conversation around healthcare quality.

The ideal candidate will bring a successful track record leading enterprise quality, patient safety, and quality improvement initiatives within a large academic health system, integrated delivery network, or similarly complex healthcare environment. Equally important will be the ability to engage physicians, clinicians, executives, and governing boards around a shared vision for quality and safety while inspiring a culture of accountability, transparency, continuous improvement, and innovation.
