Job summary

IFAD seeks a Chief, Quality Assurance and Safeguards (QAS) to lead the QAS division, ensure quality assurance of IFAD operations including project design and implementation for loans and grants, and serve on the senior management team. The incumbent also manages knowledge activities, partnerships, and administrative functions within the unit.

The role requires an advanced degree and 10+ years of experience in development operations, with strong leadership in a multicultural setting and fluency

Qualifications

• Advanced degree in economics, development studies, or closely related field.
• At least ten years of progressively responsible professional experience in a global or multicultural organization.
• Proven leadership capacity and ability to lead interdisciplinary teams.
• Proficiency in English (excellent); knowledge of another UN language desirable.

Responsibilities

• Direct and manage the QAS division and serve on IFAD's senior management team.
• Ensure quality assurance of IFAD operations, including project design and implementation for loans and grants.
