Job summary

The Theodore Roosevelt Presidential Library Foundation in Medora, North Dakota seeks a Director of Protective Services to lead the comprehensive protective services program, ensuring safety for visitors, staff, artifacts, and campus infrastructure.

The role oversees strategy, emergency preparedness, risk management, physical security systems, investigations, and resilience, while guiding a growing team and partnering with federal, state, and local agencies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field is required.
• Minimum 8–10 years of progressive leadership in protective services or related fields.
• Experience leading teams, managing budgets, vendors, and cross-functional partnerships.

Responsibilities

• Lead protective services operations across the Library campus and Foundation properties.
• Develop long-term security strategies, policies, SOPs, and goals.
• Supervise managers, supervisors, officers, and security vendors.
• Serve as liaison with law enforcement, fire/EMS, emergency management, federal agencies, and US Secret Service.
• Direct protective operations for executive leadership and high-profile events.
• Oversee security technologies including CCTV, access control, and communications.
