University of Colorado Boulder is seeking a Director of Protective Services to lead the Protective Services program within the Division of Public Safety. This senior role sets vision, guides strategic development, and supports growth of protective capabilities across executive protection, critical events, and high-risk operations campus-wide.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Criminal Justice, Public Safety, Security Management, or related field.
• Three+ years of significant progressive leadership in protective services or public safety.
• Current, valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Set long-term vision and strategic roadmap for Protective Services.
• Lead staffing models, career pathways, and succession planning.
• Oversee training, threat assessment, executive protection, and leadership development.
• Engage with campus leadership and external partners on protective initiatives.
• Ensure readiness and compliance within institutional risk tolerance.
