Job summary

ACLU of Kansas is seeking a dynamic Deputy Executive Director and Chief Program Officer to lead program strategy and execution across five departments. This senior role reports to the Executive Director and drives impact through integrated advocacy campaigns, with frequent collaboration with funders and partners.

The CPO will supervise Directors across Communications, Field, Legal, Policy & Research, and Political programs, while ensuring equity, inclusion, and belonging in all initiatives.

Qualifications

• Five+ years of senior level experience in non-profit or related advocacy fields.
• Experience designing and executing integrated advocacy campaigns.
• Ability to supervise staff and manage cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Serve on executive team and help shape organizational strategy.
• Act as interim Executive Director when needed and lead program areas.
• Oversee five programmatic departments and ensure campaign goals are met.
• Directly supervise five directors and mentor program staff.
• Collaborate with Development to pursue funding and report impact.
• Manage budgets for programmatic initiatives and ensure compliance.
