Job summary

Bay Area Community Services (BACS) seeks a dynamic Chief Program Officer to join its Executive Team. The CPO will hold full P&L responsibility for a $150M+ portfolio, oversee 700+ staff, and lead programs across 100+ funding streams and sites from Sacramento to the Bay Area.

This role interfaces with funders, county/state partners, and community stakeholders to maintain excellence across clinical, administrative, and quality systems.

Qualifications

• Master's degree required; at least ten years of senior leadership in behavioral health, homelessness, or housing services.
• Experience operating at COO/CPO or equivalent level with full P&L ownership.
• Proven ability to manage multi-site programs and diverse funding streams.

Responsibilities

• Lead agency-wide program operations and serve as the CEO's primary operating partner.
• Own full P&L accountability across all funding streams and sites.
• Ensure compliance with funding and regulatory requirements.
• Provide executive oversight to VPs, Directors, and site leadership.
• Drive CQI and maintain strong funder relationships.
