Job summary

Cook Inlet Tribal Council, Inc. seeks a Chief Program Officer to guide strategic planning and the design of integrated program services for our Alaska Native community.

The CPO will lead Youth Education, Financial Assistance, Career Development, and Early Learning Center, overseeing cradle-to-career initiatives, partnerships, and regulatory compliance across programs. Ideal candidates bring a Master’s degree, 10 years of tribal leadership experience, excellent communication, and a track record

Qualifications

• Master's Degree or equivalent in relevant field
• Ten years of progressive management and supervisory experience
• Knowledge of planning principles and socio-economic implications of program development
• Understanding of Alaska Native and American Indian community needs
• Five years of administrative experience in Tribal service delivery
• Experience with contract and grants management
• Experience in P.L. 93-638 and P.L. 102-477 preferred
• Background fingerprint clearance required

Responsibilities

• Lead strategic direction for multiple departments including Youth Education, Financial Assistance, Career Development, and Early Learning Center
• Design and execute integrated cradle-to-career programming for seamless service delivery
• Foster high-performance culture with staff development and cross-functional collaboration
• Oversee resource management aligned with strategic plans and grant requirements
• Develop partnerships to enhance mission and impact and monitor program effectiveness with metrics
• Maintain government relationships and support board and committees
• Identify and address critical tribal status and funding issues
