Job summary

Synchrony seeks a VP, Product Security Architect to lead enterprise-wide security architecture across its application and SaaS ecosystem. You will define standards, drive adoption, and partner with product and engineering to embed security into strategy and delivery.

You will own the Security Blueprint, establish guardrails, and lead governance, threat modeling, and secure API patterns at scale for multiple portfolios.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in security architecture/engineering with application security focus.
• Enterprise influence: set standards, drive cross-team adoption.
• Strong knowledge of API security and common web risks (OWASP).
• Experience embedding security into product strategy and SDLC.

Responsibilities

• Provide executive leadership for product security architecture and multi-year roadmap.
• Define and evolve Application Security Blueprint and guardrails.
• Partner with product and engineering to bake security into architecture.
• Lead threat modeling at scale and document trust boundaries and data flows.
• Oversee API security architectures, authentication/authorization and token strategy.
• Drive security in SDLC and platform controls with engineering enablement.
