Job summary

State Street seeks a highly technical Security Guardian, Vice President to serve as a strategic security guardian for engineering, platform, and business teams. This hands-on role reduces technical risk through architecture reviews, embedded security controls, and threat modeling across cloud and distributed environments.

You will engage engineers, translate security principles into actionable decisions, and influence design choices early.

Qualifications

• 7+ years cybersecurity experience with focus in Product and Cloud security and 3+ years within financial services.
• AWS or Azure Cloud Security certification is highly valued.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related technical field.
• Professional certifications such as CISSP, CISM, and GIAC are preferred.
• Proven experience collaborating with engineering teams in an embedded security engagement model.

Responsibilities

• Conduct hands-on security assessments at the application, platform, and system levels.
• Design and recommend concrete security controls embedded into system and application architectures.
• Own and actively drive down technical security risk by validating controls in production.
• Partner closely with engineering teams as an embedded product security expert.
• Provide technically grounded security guidance to senior leadership with clear tradeoffs.
