Job summary

State Street is seeking a highly technical Security Guardian, Vice President, to act as a strategic security guardian for engineering, platform, and business teams. This role sits in the first line of defense, reducing security risk through architecture reviews, embedded controls, and proactive threat mitigation across cloud and distributed environments.

Qualifications

• At least 7+ years of progressive cybersecurity experience with focus in Product and Cloud security and 3+ years within financial services.
• Experience in Agentic AI security and smart contract security is highly preferred.
• AWS or Azure Cloud Security certification is highly valued.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related technical field.
• Professional certifications such as CISSP, CISM, GIAC preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conduct hands-on security assessments at the application, platform, and system levels using threat modeling, architecture review, and vulnerability analysis.
• Design and embed concrete security controls into system and application architectures, including identity, cryptography, and network isolation.
• Drive down security risk by validating controls in production and aligning with threat models.
• Partner with engineering teams as embedded product security expert to influence design decisions early.
• Provide security guidance to senior leadership with clear tradeoffs and remediation strategies.
• Demonstrate deep expertise in advanced security domains such as product security, cloud security, and software supply-chain security.
• Leverage DevSecOps, Shift-Left, and secure CI/CD to embed security in iterative delivery.
• Communicate security topics clearly to engineers, architects, and executives.
