Job summary

Arc is seeking a Product and Design Leader to own the vessels’ industrial design, software experiences, and product vision, uniting hardware and software into a single platform. You will work closely with engineering, manufacturing, marketing, and sales, leading with strong people skills while doing hands-on design work early on.

This is a full-time, on-site role reporting to the CEO at our Los Angeles headquarters, with a builder’s mindset and a track record of shipping complex products.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in design, with 5+ years in leadership.
• Depth in software/UI-UX and hardware/industrial design.
• Proven track record shipping complex products.
• Grow teams, mentor designers, build design org.
• Experience building supplier relationships.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes.
• Fluency with modern design tools.
• Excellent presentation and storytelling skills.
• Bachelor's degree in design or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Define and evangelize a clear, research-backed vision and strategy.
• Direct exterior/interior design from concept to production.
• Direct the UI/UX of onboard displays, controls, and apps.
• Execute hands-on design work: sketches, models, prototypes.
• Recruit and mentor designers and grow the design org.
• Collaborate daily with engineering, manufacturing, marketing, sales.
• Coordinate with suppliers on design execution and tooling.
• Present and defend design decisions to exec team and board.
