Job summary

Quincy Compressor is seeking a VP of Purchasing to lead the organization and purchasing strategy for the Product Company. You will drive cost, quality, and delivery across sourcing, production buying, and supplier quality assurance, while partnering with business leaders to support growth and profitability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or closely related discipline.
• 5+ years of progressive procurement, senior buying, or supply chain experience in manufacturing.
• Proven leadership experience managing multi-functional procurement activities.
• Lean manufacturing experience and CPM or CPIM certifications are advantageous.
• Strong negotiation, analytical, and financial skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead the entire Purchasing department, including Sourcing, Production Buyers, Purchasing Agents, and SQA, fostering collaboration and excellence.
• Drive recruitment, training, and performance development to build a high-performing procurement team.
• Formulate purchasing strategies aligned with corporate objectives at multiple levels.
• Assess and enhance the supplier base using financial, technical, quality, and logistics criteria.
• Strengthen supply chain infrastructure to optimize quality, lead times, and costs.
• Lead complex supplier negotiations; manage contracts, pricing, and SLAs.
• Establish rigorous purchasing protocols with fair bidding and compliance.
• Encourage early engagement of Purchasing in product development cycles.
• Collaborate with Logistics and Production to develop lean material flows.
• Oversee projects and drive continuous process improvements in procurement tech.
• Monitor supplier performance and drive initiatives for quality and availability.
• Collaborate on cross-division procurement initiatives to leverage synergies.
