Job summary

BH Aviation, part of the Riddle’s Group, seeks a Chief Pilot to lead flight operations in Rapid City. You will oversee the flight crew, ensure compliance with FAA Part 135, and manage training, schedules, and records.

This is a hands-on leadership role requiring strong regulatory knowledge and decisive operational leadership. The ideal candidate has significant Part 135 experience and prior Chief Pilot exposure, with excellent leadership and communication skills to drive safety and operational

Qualifications

• Current FAA pilot certificate appropriate for Part 135 operation.
• Minimum 3 years of PIC experience under Part 135 or Part 121.
• Qualified to serve as PIC in at least one aircraft used by the operation.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple operational priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the company's designated Chief Pilot for Part 135 operations, subject to FAA approval and qualification.
• Provide leadership and oversight to all flight crew members.
• Ensure flight operations comply with FAA regulations, OPS specs, manuals, and safety procedures.
• Oversee pilot qualifications, currency, proficiency, training, and records.
• Coordinate initial, recurrent, upgrade, and other required pilot training.
• Maintain pilot qualification and training documentation.
• Develop and manage pilot schedules with rest and duty compliance.
• Monitor flight operations and ensure adherence to procedures and standards.
• Provide guidance on weather, routing, aircraft performance, and safety considerations.
• Promote sound aeronautical decision-making and a strong safety culture.
• Assist with development and maintenance of flight operations manuals and training programs.
• Coordinate with maintenance regarding aircraft availability and readiness.
• Investigate operational incidents and safety concerns as appropriate.
• Maintain FAA and company records, and relations with FAA personnel and partners.
• Serve as Pilot in Command when assigned and qualified.
