Job summary

Jet Aviation is seeking a highly experienced Chief Pilot for our Conroe, TX private FAR Part 91 operation. The role leads flight operations, flight crew, scheduling, training, and compliance, ensuring safe, discreet, and high-quality service for executive travel.

The ideal candidate will be a hands-on leader with strong judgment, exceptional communication, and the ability to manage complex schedules and international missions, while upholding the highest industry standards.

Qualifications

• FAA ATP certificate with appropriate airplane category and class ratings.
• Current FAA First-Class Medical Certificate.
• 10+ years in corporate/commercial aviation; 4+ years leading pilots.
• Type rating for assigned aircraft or ability to obtain prior to duties.
• Minimum 5,000 hours total flight time; turbine and multi-engine experience.
• Experience as Pilot in Command in corporate/business aviation; large-cabin preferred.
• Strong knowledge of FAR Part 91 operations, FAA regs, flight planning, international ops.
• Leadership roles: Chief Pilot, Lead Captain, Director of Aviation preferred.
• Experience mentoring flight crews; strong coaching skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Strong organizational/analytical/problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to work independently; manage priorities; adapt to schedule changes.
• Willingness to travel domestically and internationally; flexible schedule.
• Valid passport and ability to meet travel/entry requirements.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education/aviation experience

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and oversight for all flight activities under FAR Part 91.
• Serve as Pilot in Command as required and maintain currency on aircraft.
• Promote safety-first culture; ensure operations comply with FAA regs and SOPs.
• Develop and maintain flight department policies, manuals, and standards.
• Assess flight planning, weather, airport suitability, and mission risk.
• Coordinate flight crew scheduling, rest, and trip coverage.
• Oversee pilot training, currency, medicals, and qualification records.
• Maintain flight department records and documentation accuracy.
• Participate in recruitment, onboarding, and performance management of crews.
• Mentor pilots; establish performance expectations and professional culture.
• Collaborate with maintenance, cabin crew, and aviation management for trip execution.
• Support domestic and international trip planning, permits, customs, security, transport.
• Ensure compliance with international requirements for worldwide operations.
• Engage in Safety Management System activities and risk assessments.
• Assist with operating plans, staffing, and training budgets.
