Job summary

The Institute for Citizens and Scholars is seeking a Chief Philanthropy Officer to lead partnership-driven fundraising and drive a bold philanthropic strategy. You will collaborate with philanthropic leaders, donors, and program heads to mobilize resources and expand impact nationwide.

You will oversee a talented development team, engage high-net-worth individuals, foundations, and networks, and travel regionally to build enduring partnerships that advance the Institute’s civic mission and

Qualifications

• Ability to establish credibility with high-net-worth individuals across political and ideological spectra.
• Existing relationships or access to networks connected to emerging wealth (founders, investors, executives, family offices).
• Skill in translating donor interests into investment or partnership opportunities.
• Experience advancing high-stakes relationships over time with cross-stakeholder collaboration.
• Experience leading small teams and building a culture of trust and performance.

Responsibilities

• Lead and execute a comprehensive philanthropic strategy aligned with mission and impact.
• Develop and sustain donor-centric relationships with emerging philanthropists.
• Co-create mission-aligned opportunities and connect stakeholders with leadership.
• Oversee and guide fundraising team; set strategic direction and performance standards.
• Engage C&S board to mobilize networks for philanthropic partnerships.
