Job summary

Beth Israel Lahey Health’s Joslin Diabetes Center seeks a Vice President for Philanthropy to lead a national fundraising program. You will align initiatives with Joslin leadership, the Joslin President and CSO, and the BILH system Chief Development Officer to grow major and principal gifts.

You will inspire a team of frontline fundraisers, collaborate across the system, and drive high-impact donor engagement and stewardship across cardiovascular and diabetes research and care initiatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education and experience.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience managing and developing a successful fundraising program.
• Proven ability to close major, principal and foundation gifts with demonstrated cultivation, solicitation and stewardship.
• Experience in medical philanthropy preferred.

Responsibilities

• Promotes the mission and its case for philanthropic support throughout the community.
• Designs and implements annual and multiyear goals for fundraising to create a high-performing development function.
• Leads and mentors a team to maximize major gift fundraising opportunities.
• Partners with executive leadership and boards to foster a culture of philanthropy.
• Personally manages a portfolio of high level prospects and donors and cultivates principal level gifts.
• Oversees cultivation and stewardship programs to elevate donor engagement and support.
• Collaborates across BILH to drive system-level transformative gifts.
• Works with philanthropy services to drive frontline fundraising results.
