Job summary

CommonSpirit Health is seeking a Chief Philanthropy Officer to join the Senior Leadership Group and oversee the system-wide foundations across multiple states, including the new Health Foundation. You will provide strategic vision, policy development, and leadership to ensure private philanthropy supports hospital programs and services.

You will actively engage senior leadership, foundation executives, staff, boards, and other key donors to grow private support.

Qualifications

• A Master's degree in a related field upon hire, or a combination of education and/or additional job-related experience, may be substituted in lieu of the degree.
• Minimum of seven (7) years of not-for-profit fundraising and development experience and
• Minimum of five (5) years of management experience.

Responsibilities

• Leads the development of a comprehensive, annual fundraising plan which responds to the defined needs of the foundations and supported organizations.
• Manages and oversees professional fundraising and support staff, and is the Foundation lead with Board and community leaders in growing financial and public relations support for the associated supported organization(s)
• Directs and oversees the receipt of charitable gifts, their financial stewardship, and their ultimate distribution to the hospital and related entities, to ensure continuous support of the foundation and supported organization(s) mission.
• Acts as the senior major gifts and planned giving officer, actively managing a portfolio of prospects and donors, meeting regularly with donors and prospects to create and foster relationships.
