Dorchester County Economic Development seeks a Human Resources Director to provide strategic leadership across workforce planning, compensation, benefits, compliance, and HR operations. You will advise County leadership and oversee budgeting, policy development, and risk management.

The role leads recruitment, employee relations, and performance management, while ensuring legal compliance and a positive workplace culture. A public-sector background and HR certification are highly valued.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in HR, Public Administration, Business Administration, or related field required.
• Master's degree preferred; professional HR certification strongly preferred.
• Five years of progressively responsible HR experience; at least three years in a senior HR leadership role.
• Experience in a public-sector or governmental environment preferred.
• Valid driver's license required.

Responsabilités

• Provide strategic leadership of the HR function and workforce planning.
• Oversee employee and labor relations, compliance, and HR operations.
• Develop and implement HR policies, budget, and risk management.
• Lead recruitment, onboarding, performance management and succession planning.
• Ensure data integrity, HRIS accuracy, and confidentiality of records.
• Advise County leadership on workforce matters and regulatory requirements.
