UCSF Benioff Children's Hospitals seeks an Executive Medical Director of Quality & Safety to lead a unified, high-reliability pediatric safety strategy across BCH, integrating clinical expertise with system-wide governance.

Based in San Francisco or Oakland, the role partners with UCSF Health, the School of Medicine, and BCH leadership to advance equitable, high-value care and strengthen a culture of safety, learning, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Medical degree and eligibility for medical licensure in California.
• Board certification or eligibility in a pediatric clinical specialty.
• Experience leading interdisciplinary teams in an academic healthcare environment.
• Minimum 5 years of leadership experience guiding teams in complex healthcare.
• Proven track record in quality improvement and patient safety initiatives.
• Training in improvement science (Lean, Six Sigma, IHI).

Responsabilités

• Lead BCH's Quality & Safety strategy and standardization of clinical pathways and safety practices.
• Co-lead BCH's Quality Improvement Committee and oversee safety governance across SF and Oakland campuses.
• Drive systemwide improvements in clinical effectiveness, data analytics, and regulatory compliance.
• Mentor leaders and teams to build high-reliability behaviors and a culture of safety.
• Represent BCH in national collaboratives and ensure transparent reporting to boards and leadership.
