Job summary

Manhattan Gastroenterology seeks a Chief Operating Officer to lead operations across 7 sites, oversee departments from Practice Quality Assurance to Marketing, and partner with physician leadership to drive productivity and financial performance.

The role is hands-on and on-site at our Manhattan and Brooklyn locations, reporting to the Practice Medical Director. We value a strong operations leader with healthcare experience and a collaborative style.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of progressive healthcare operations leadership in a multi-site medical practice and/or ambulatory surgery center.
• Proven record of building trusted working relationships with physicians.
• Experience partnering with finance and revenue cycle teams on budgets, productivity and KPIs.
• Hands-on experience with EMR systems, call center management, HR administration, vendor oversight and regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities

• Build trusted relationships with the Practice Medical Director, ASC Medical Director and GI physicians as their primary operational contact.
• Set and review provider productivity targets monthly: utilization, schedule fill, procedure volume and no-shows.
• Oversee scheduling, patient access, call center and infusion to ensure staffing efficiency and patient satisfaction across sites.
• Ensure compliance, accreditation readiness for Joint Commission and laboratory inspections.
• Fill leadership positions within 6–8 months and mentor department heads with clear development goals.
• Lead operational planning for new service lines and site expansions including marketing and IT initiatives.
