Location: Flexible / Remote (with travel to JORNY locations)

Type: Full-Time (1099 Contractor) – No benefits initially. Opportunity for equity shares may be available at a later stage.

We’re JORNY—a fast-growing, purpose-driven community redefining what midlife looks and feels like. We're on a mission to help people live more intentional, inspired, and fulfilling lives through personal growth, real-life adventures, meaningful connections, and wellness-driven experiences. From transformational retreats to soulful gatherings, we’re creating spaces for midlifers to connect deeply with themselves and each other—while having a whole lot of fun along the way.

About The Role:

As COO, you’ll join our founding team at a critical moment of rapid growth, refinement, and momentum. You’ll bring structure to the chaos, help scale what’s working, and fix what’s not - fast. This role requires a strategic operator with startup hustle, Community or Membership background, some hospitality experience, and a love for building systems that support human-centered, community-driven experiences.

You’ll work hand-in-hand with our CEO and creative leads to evolve the business week by week, pivot when needed, and help build a brand that makes real impact.

What You'll Do:

  • Build and Scale Ops: Architect the operational backbone of JORNY—from the Membership structure and location setup to daily guest/member experience, team workflows, and backend systems.
  • Launch and Optimize: Help open new Houses and destinations. Ensure fast, on-the-ground execution with repeatable playbooks that can evolve quickly.
  • Adapt and Pivot: Test ideas, collect feedback, and help the team pivot fast as we learn what works across different markets and member types.
  • Drive Performance: Track and improve key KPIs (retention, revenue, margin, NPS, team performance). Identify and solve bottlenecks early.
  • Lead the Team: Support and mentor House Managers, Experience Leads, and remote staff. Build a team culture of ownership, pace, and care.
  • Create Systems: Bring order to our startup chaos—implement systems for onboarding, logistics, procurement, member communication, scheduling, and more.
  • Cross-Team Execution: Collaborate with Product, Marketing, Membership, and Community teams to keep the experience consistent, inspiring, and operationally sound.

Who You Are:

  • A hands-on operator with at least 5–10 years in hospitality, travel, or community/membership-driven businesses—preferably with startup or early-stage experience.
  • Calm under pressure and fast on your feet - comfortable making quick decisions with limited data.
  • Strategic thinker and ruthless prioritizer who knows when to build from scratch and when to simplify.
  • A natural leader who empowers teams, builds systems, and sets a strong pace while keeping the mission at the center.
  • Excited by building something new, undefined, and constantly evolving.
  • Deep belief in our mission—creating connection, meaning, and joy in midlife.

What We Offer:

  • A founding role in one of the most exciting new lifestyle brands for the 50+ generation.
  • High impact, high responsibility, and high flexibility from day one.
  • Access to all JORNY Houses, retreats, and events—live what we build.
  • Opportunity to co-shape the brand, business model, and company culture from the ground up.
