Job summary

AI Engineers, Inc. in Middletown, CT seeks a Chief of Survey to lead our Survey Department. The role focuses on boundary, topographic, bridge, and road surveys, with strong leadership and project delivery experience.

The ideal candidate will be a licensed PLS with 10+ years of survey experience, proficient in Carlson, Leica Infinity, AutoCAD Civil 3D and Bentley/OpenRoads, and able to mentor staff. This is a full-time, on-site opportunity in Middletown.

Qualifications

• Licensed Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) required.
• 10+ years of survey experience.
• Experience with the listed survey software packages.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience with cost estimating is required.
• Experience leading teams for boundary/topographic surveys, bridges, roads, or construction surveys preferred.
• Familiarity with CT DOT and CT DEEP survey practices preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead survey projects and manage cost estimating for bids or projects.
• Manage and mentor junior staff in field and office survey procedures.
• Perform boundary, topographic, construction, and control surveys for state, municipal, and private projects.
• Process and analyze GPS data (Static, RTK, RTN) for accurate deliverables.
• Conduct land records research including boundary analysis and deed/right‑of‑way interpretation.
• Prepare survey deliverables using field and office data.
• Collaborate with engineers, architects, and project managers for coordinated delivery.
