Job summary

New York City Department of Housing Preservation & Development seeks an Associate Urban Designer to support BLDS operations, policy development, and interagency initiatives. You will work with agency leadership to align division efforts with the Housing Blueprint and manage data-driven tracking and reporting.

The role requires a Degree in Architecture and experience in urban design development, with strong organizational and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in architecture and 2 years of work in urban design development or related fields.
• Graduate work can substitute for experience; architecture degree required.
• Residency rules and 55a program may apply; strong communication and organization expected.

Responsibilities

• Assist in developing, implementing, tracking, and evaluating operational and policy strategies for BLDS.
• Collaborate with Agency leadership to align efforts with Housing Blueprint goals.
• Represent the division in meetings and coordinate interagency projects.
• Review policy proposals for impacts on pipelines, timelines, and services.
• Develop tracking tools, technical reports, and data analyses.
