Job summary

The NYC Department of Design and Construction, Division of Public Buildings, seeks an Architect to serve as a special assistant and coordinator for the Architecture Unit. The position involves developing guidelines, tracking tools, and onboarding materials to improve workflow and consistency across work product.

The Architect will also help develop internal and external presentation tools, and research and implement technical standards, frameworks, toolkits, and best practices to foster learning

Qualifications

  • A valid New York State Registration as an Architect. Current NYS Registration must be maintained for the duration of your employment.
  • At least one year within the last three years of experience as a major contributor or project leader on a complex project.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a special assistant and coordinator for the Architecture Unit, assisting with guidelines, tracking and onboarding tools to improve workflow and outputs.
  • Develop and maintain internal and external presentation tools and outreach materials.
  • Research, develop and implement technical standards, frameworks and toolkits to foster consistency and innovation in the unit.
  • Assist in project scoping, scheduling, design reviews, site visits and report preparation as needed.
