Job summary

NYC Department of Housing Preservation and Development is seeking an Associate Housing Development Specialist to lead interagency coordination for the ASAP initiative. You will work with the Mayor’s Office and city partners to accelerate affordable housing production while managing pipelines, data, and timelines.

Ideal candidates bring experience in housing development, design/construction, program management, urban planning, and strong writing and organizational skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and 3 years of full-time experience in development, financing, negotiation, or urban planning related to housing.
• Alternative pathways: a four-year high school diploma with seven years of relevant experience; graduate study may substitute up to one year.
• Candidate must have at least two years of experience as described above; NYC residency typically required.

Responsibilities

• Lead interagency coordination for the ASAP housing initiative with Mayor’s Office and external partners.
• Develop and manage housing pipeline tracking tools, reports, and data analyses for ASAP.
• Coordinate with BLDS teams to track progress, milestones, budgets, deliverables, and contracts.
• Manage external communications and collaboration with other divisions within HPD.
• Participate in ASAP task force meetings and support senior management with insights.
