This is a founding-level ownership seat, not a calendar role — you’ll own critical problems end-to-end and build the system to keep them from slipping. We're hiring a Chief of Staff to work directly with the founders of an early-stage AI startup and help run the company end to end. This is a founding-level ownership seat, not a calendar or scheduling role. You'll pick up whatever is most important and least owned, see it through, and build the system that keeps it from slipping again. The role reports to the CEO and is based in person at our San Francisco office.

What you'll do

• Take work off the founders' plate and run it to completion across fundraising prep, hiring, operations and go-to-market
• Own the company's operating rhythm: goals, metrics, standups, reviews and planning
• Prepare board and investor materials and keep company metrics accurate
• Lead special projects end to end across GTM, product ops, hiring, finance and partnerships
• Connect product, engineering and GTM, and catch problems before they grow

You may be a fit if

• You have 3+ years of experience in investment banking, consulting, investing, or as an operator or Chief of Staff
• You're highly organized and detail-oriented, and you own problems from the moment you spot them until they're resolved
• You think sharply and write clearly: you can dig into a messy problem, form a view and write the memo that drives a decision
• You're comfortable with ambiguity and can move between a financial model, a hiring plan, a customer issue and a board deck in the same day
• You can hold a credible conversation about AI agents and the technology behind them
• You can work from the San Francisco office full time

Nice to have

• You've been a founder, an early startup operator or one of the first employees at an early-stage company
• You've built systems or processes from scratch and enjoy bringing structure to chaos
• You've worked closely with a founder or senior executive
• An MBA or a background at a top-tier company or firm
