Job summary

AbbVie in Cambridge, MA seeks a Director, Neuroscience Strategic Management to serve as Chief of Staff to the VP of Neuroscience Discovery Research. You will translate strategy into action, coordinate cross-functional efforts, and drive execution of key initiatives across the Neuroscience organization.

Qualifications

• Advanced degree in neuroscience or related field.
• 8–10+ years in pharma, biotech, healthcare, consulting or related industries.
• Experience in R&D, program management, operations, strategic planning, alliances or management consulting.
• Proven success leading cross-functional initiatives in matrixed organizations.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication for senior leadership.

Responsibilities

• Partner with the VP to develop, communicate, and execute organizational priorities and strategic initiatives.
• Drive operational excellence through planning, governance, and execution.
• Support leadership through agenda development, decision processes, and alignment on priorities.
• Coordinate progress of cross-functional programs, identify risks and opportunities to accelerate delivery.
• Provide objective analysis, recommendations, and actionable insights to leadership.
• Foster collaboration across discovery research functions, disease areas, and sites.
• Support planning, prioritization, change management, and business process improvements.
• Identify external engagements and partnerships aligned with neuroscience priorities.
• Develop exec communications and materials outlining priorities, progress, and recommendations.
• Collaborate with Finance and other leadership to support planning and objectives.
• Capture best practices and lessons learned to improve effectiveness.
