Luck & Leverage is partnering with an established executive search firm building its US private markets platform. This Chief of Staff role sits alongside a senior Managing Partner as a true No.2, guiding growth, sales, delivery and operations for the US business.
There is no single required background, but the candidate will be highly organized, commercially minded and adept at research and stakeholder communication.
We are partnering with an established international executive search firm that is continuing to build its US private markets business.
The firm has an approximately 30-year track record, around 80 employees globally, and has completed more than 1,000 searches over the last two years for leading private equity and private markets investors.
A senior Managing Partner is building the US platform, and this Chief of Staff hire will work directly alongside them as a genuine No.2 across the growth and operation of the business.
This is a strong fit for someone who wants direct exposure to a high-performing executive search Partner, senior private equity clients, and the mechanics of building a search business — without necessarily coming in as a traditional search consultant.
You will work directly with the Managing Partner across both sales and delivery, helping create the operating leverage required to scale the US business.
The role is deliberately broad and could include:
You will sit close to major commercial decisions, client conversations and search execution rather than operating as a traditional administrative Chief of Staff.
There is no single required background.
You could come from executive search, consulting, professional services, investing, operations or another high-performance environment.
The important things are that you are:
Exposure to private equity, private markets or executive search would be valuable, but is not essential if you can quickly understand complex markets and clients.
This is an early-stage US build-out within an established global firm.
You will have the resources, client relationships and credibility of a mature executive search business, but the day-to-day environment will feel much more entrepreneurial.
The Managing Partner is looking for someone who wants significant responsibility and is comfortable operating beyond a narrow job description.
The role has intentionally been designed with flexibility.
Over time, you could move towards:
The direction will depend on your strengths and where you want to take the role.
US-based, with a strong preference for New York / Tri-State given the proximity to the Managing Partner and the firm’s private markets client base.
Compensation will depend on background, experience and the structure of the role.
There is flexibility to create a package with different balances of fixed and performance-linked compensation depending on experience and appetite for upside.
