Chief of Staff (Business Process Analyst)
12-month Contract-to-Hire
$45-$65/hr.
About the Role
Brooksource is seeking a Business Process Analyst (Chief of Staff) to serve as right hand to the Manager of ET Operations Engineering Support, coordinating activities across four engineering and operational support teams. This is a role for someone who genuinely enjoys bringing order to complexity and can toggle easily between strategic work and hands on admin: you'll prepare executive materials, coordinate schedules and agendas, track commitments and action items, and improve the business processes that keep organizational priorities, risks, and dependencies visible across teams.
Some of what you take on will be highly visible and complex; some will be routine but essential. Either way, you'll be trusted to connect people and information and help leadership focus on what matters most - which makes this a strong fit for someone who is organized, adaptable, and comfortable operating in an environment where priorities shift and problems aren't always clearly defined.
What You’ll Do
- Partner closely with the Manager of ET Operations Engineering Support on organizational priorities, planning, and day-to-day operations.
- Coordinate meetings, agendas, action items, communications, and leadership presentation materials.
- Improve visibility into organizational priorities, commitments, risks, and dependencies.
- Partner with each of the four team PMs to surface risks and challenges, and turn what you learn into actionable intel for leadership.
- Own org level program management: preparing team all hands, setting operating cadences, and driving goal alignment across teams.
- Support business processes spanning travel, vendor activity, workforce planning, and financial management, including capital budgets, O&M spend, budget variance, and project cost tracking.
- Facilitate coordination across teams with differing responsibilities, priorities, and levels of maturity.
- Research issues, gather information, and develop recommendations to support leadership decision-making.
- Help establish and improve processes that increase efficiency, accountability, and consistency.
- Work primarily in SAP and Excel, with a custom SharePoint/OpenShift tracking tool currently being rolled out.
- Support special projects and emerging business needs as organizational priorities evolve.
What You Bring
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Communications, Public Administration, Organizational Leadership, Engineering, or a related field.
- 5+ years of professional experience in business operations, business analysis, consulting, organizational effectiveness, program support, or a related discipline.
- Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt to changing organizational needs.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
- Sound judgment and the ability to manage sensitive or confidential information.
- Independent and proactive, with the confidence to challenge leadership when needed.
- Comfortable thriving in ambiguity and bringing structure to loosely defined initiatives.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting leaders, managers, or complex organizations.
- Experience improving business processes, operating models, or organizational practices.
- Experience preparing executive presentations, communications, and briefing materials.
- Experience working across multiple stakeholder groups in a large or complex organization.
