Job summary

Iansociety in Greensboro, NC seeks a Medical Director of Oncology Services to provide clinical oversight, strategic direction for the Cancer Center, and leadership in collaboration with the COO and CHMG President to deliver high-quality patient care.

You will lead multidisciplinary teams of oncologists, advance survivorship and genetic counseling programs, monitor quality metrics, oversee recruitment, and drive growth and efficient operations for the service line.

Qualifications

• Required: MD or DO degree.
• Licensure: North Carolina license to practice medicine, board certified.

Responsibilities

• Collaborates with department leaders to develop policies, protocols and guidelines for quality patient care and regulatory compliance.
• Develop programs to keep the oncology service at the forefront of care, including MDTs, survivorship, genetic counseling, palliative care, patient navigation and symptom management.
• Educates medical staff and leaders on quality metrics to assess performance and mitigate risk; align with peer review processes.
• Engage with community leaders; present at events; promote community outreach, screening and education.
• Assist in development of oncology-based physician committees and administration/physician governance; monitor quality assurance programs.
• Participate in strategic planning with Institutional Advancement to obtain charitable and grant funding.
• Oversee strategic direction, development, and growth of the Research program; focus on protocol options and financial viability.
• Provide clinical oversight of patient care focusing on quality measures and accreditation standards; drive best practices for value-based care.
• Guide and supervise CHMG physicians and APPs in oncology service delivery; participate in clinical recruitment and adoption of evidence-based practices.
• Be responsible for operational and financial performance of the service line; contribute to budgeting and capital planning.
