Job summary

Situation, a full-service agency, seeks a Director, Agency Communications to own the external presence. This leader will shape our narrative, identify stories, and turn ongoing work into visibility while reporting to the President.

You will drive agency-wide communications with leadership, develop content strategy across press, social, events; build media relationships, seek speaking opportunities, and create opportunities rather than just fulfill requests. This is a New York-based role.

Qualifications

• 6–8+ years in communications, PR, or agency environments.
• Proven ability to create opportunities and drive them, not only execute briefs.
• Strong media relationships with a track record of earned press.
• Excellent writing and storytelling with strategic instincts.
• Entrepreneurial, autonomous and able to manage multiple workstreams.

Responsibilities

• Own and continually sharpen how Situation talks about itself across channels.
• Develop and drive the agency’s overall communications and content strategy.
• Stay close to the work and proactively identify stories, people, client work, and insights.
• Build relationships with press, journalists, influencers and industry voices.
• Identify opportunities for executive visibility through speaking, awards, panels, and partnerships.
