Lifepoint Health invites applications for a Chief Nursing Officer to oversee Jackson Purchase Medical Center in Mayfield, Kentucky. The CNO will lead nursing standards, staffing, and quality initiatives, ensuring compliant, high-quality patient care across all nursing areas.

The role requires a Bachelor’s in Nursing, a Master’s degree (MSN or MHA), and 3–5 years of CNO experience in investor-owned healthcare with Joint Commission familiarity. An active KY nursing license is required.

Qualifications

• Licensed Registered Nurse with knowledge of nursing principles, theories and practice standards.
• Master’s Degree required (MSN or MHA).
• 3–5 years of CNO experience in an investor-owned healthcare organization.
• Prior experience with Joint Commission preparation and survey process.
• Active nursing license in the state where the facility is located.

Responsibilities

• Ensures continuous and timely nursing services to patients.
• Directs nursing service performance improvement activities.
• Participates in hospital leadership functions.
• Collaborates with hospital leaders to design patient care and services with adequate staffing.
• Develops, presents and manages budget for nursing services.
• Develops and implements overall nursing plan aligned with hospital policies and objectives.
• Interprets nursing and patient care policies and standards for quality.
• Directs nursing services budget and expense control system.
• Organizes and supervises daily nursing service for adequate coverage.
• Recruits, interviews, and hires qualified nursing personnel.
• Participates in hospital quality assurance and improvement programs.
• Maintains communications with medical and administrative staff via staff meetings and committees.
• Evaluates equipment and supply requirements for nursing care.
• Directs orientation and educational programs to promote staff development.
• Recommends new patient care programs for nursing services expansion.
• Represents hospital in health care programs and professional organizations.
