Job summary

Medical University of South Carolina is seeking a Chief Nursing Informatics Officer (CNIO) to guide strategy, governance, and optimization of clinical information systems that support nursing practice across the health system.

As the CNIO, you will partner with the CMIO and Nursing leadership to shape Epic deployment and related technologies, driving safe, evidence-based, technology-enabled care across multiple hospitals and care locations.

Qualifications

• Current RN licensure, with eligibility for licensure in SC.
• Bachelor's degree in nursing required; master's degree in nursing preferred.
• Seven to ten years of progressive nursing leadership experience, including at least five years in clinical informatics leadership within a complex, multi-hospital health system.
• Deep experience with Epic implementation and optimization; Epic certification preferred.
• Demonstrated success leading enterprise-scale EHR governance, clinical workflow redesign, and technology adoption.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategy, governance, and optimization of clinical information systems supporting nursing practice and interprofessional care.
• Serve as dyad partner to CMIO; ensure nursing voice shapes design, adoption, and continuous improvement of Epic and related technologies.
• Lead Informatics Team; collaborate with Nursing leadership and CIO to advance safe, efficient, evidence-based, technology-enabled care.

Required Education/Skills/Work Experience/Licensure:

Minimum Qualifications
